Siew Hoon is the founder of Web In Travel (WIT), launching it in Singapore in 2005 and going on to launch WIT editions across Asia Pacific. In 2016, WIT Europe made its debut in London, days after the Brexit vote.

WIT has won several awards including "Most Innovative Marketing Initiative" and "Trade Conference Of The Year" from the Singapore Tourism Board and in 2014, Siew Hoon was recognised "Tourism Entrepreneur of The Year". She casts her eye on the big picture trends driving change in travel and shares the lessons she's learnt on adapting to change from her perch as a journalist and commentator covering the fast-changing world of travel.

She is also a published author of titles such as “Around Asia In One Hour: Tales of Condoms, Chillies & Curries” and children’s books such as “Adventures of Habibie The Turtle” and “The Story of Baitong and Boon”.

After seven years working on her own cafe and doing sales for one of Australia's largest insurance companies, Jean returned to Singapore and joined Chope as a senior operations executive. Five years later, she is now the General Manager of Chope Singapore's Reservations unit. She speaks fondly and proudly of her entire Singapore team, describing them as a team of "like-minded individuals, driven to make dining out easier than ever before".

And while her meteoric rise through the company says much about her drive, commitment, and expertise, Jean still finds time to dote on her young beagle, Nika.

Sulbi has recently been appointed as General Manager for M Social Singapore- A Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Resorts brand. She graduated from The School of Hospitality from Michigan State University and started as Management Trainee at the Four Seasons in Chicago.

After a 7-year career with Four Seasons in Chicago, London and Singapore, she ventured out to a different world – first in Private Equity hunting for investment opportunities in lesser known countries, joining a medical tourism startup pushing regenerative Stem Cell treatments and then in recruitment to build the Digital/Innovation/Fintech patch of the Marketing/Tech recruitment.

Coming back full circle to her passion to be General Manager someday, Sulbi brings to M Social her crossover experience and knowledge of innovation and technology, doing her part to uplift/disrupt the industry and help create a community of innovative thinkers and doers in the hospitality industry.

Mei Yi is the General Manager, Asia for Peatix, a global event discovery and community ticketing platform that provides endless possibility for the pursuit of enriching experiences. With over 120,000 events, as part of 30,000 interest groups, across 27 countries since its inception in May 2011, Peatix reimagines the event experience for attendees through social interactions, event and group discovery using its mobile applications and website. Event organizers using Peatix include TEDx, Pecha Kucha, Slush Asia, YouTube FanFest and Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC). Peatix is a post-Series B startup with investors including DG Incubation, SPH Media Fund, Fidelity Growth Partners and 500 Startups.

Mei Yi joined Peatix in 2015 to launch the service in Malaysia and currently leads a sales and marketing team based in Singapore to drive the growth of Peatix in the APAC region (ex. Japan) and to empower independent community and event organisers. She works to increase
the adoption of Peatix by cultivating vibrant Peatix communities in tech, the arts, music and lifestyle.

Prior to joining Peatix, Mei Yi had a progressive career in Marketing, Business Planning, Channel Management/Program Management, Sales and Business Development in Singtel, a listed ICT company in Singapore. In Singtel, she was responsible for launching Shopify, - a self-service e-commerce platform that went IPO in 2015 - in Malaysia and creating an ecosystem to support its adoption and growth.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore where she graduated with a Eusoff College Medal.

Director, Digital Transformation, Singapore Tourism Board

Chi Chuan assumed the role of Director, Digital Transformation on 7 August 2017. In this capacity, he works with his Division to strengthen enterprise digital capabilities for both STB and key industry partners. This includes gathering and analysing data and trends on tourism performance, sharing market intelligence and consumer insights, as well as engaging stakeholders on digital collaborations.

 

Chi Chuan joined STB in 2004 as Manager in the International Group before moving on to Market Access, and headed STB’s overseas office for Western China. From 2007 – 2009, he was the Assistant Director managing the China/North Asia markets. In 2010 he became Deputy Director of the Tourism Concept Development team, and was promoted to Director in 2012. In 2015, he took on the responsibility of Director, Tourism Concept Development which involved overseeing the cultural precinct developments in Chinatown as well as Little India. He also championed masterplans of new tourism zones and developed innovative tourism initiatives. These included leading the conceptualisation of the Mandai nature-themed project.

Chi Chuan was a recipient of the National Day Awards Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2016.

Chi Chuan graduated from the Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) in 1999. He then obtained his Masters in Public Management with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, in 2017.
